BolFlow (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a mobile application that helps users speak in their preferred language and convert speech into English text for use in messaging and other apps.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Password (stored in hashed form)
Voice and Speech Data
When you use the mic bubble or voice features, we collect:
- Audio recordings you create while using BolFlow
- Transcripts of your speech
- Translated English text
- Detected language (if available)
App Settings
We store settings you choose, such as:
- Preferred languages
- Whether the voice bubble is enabled
Device and Usage Information
We may collect limited technical information needed to operate the app, including:
- Device type
- Operating system version
- App version
- Basic usage events related to voice conversions and subscription status
Subscription / Purchase Information
If you subscribe to BolFlow Premium, payment is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive information about your subscription status (for example, whether Premium is active) through Google Play and/or RevenueCat.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Convert your speech into English text
- Show your conversion history (where available)
- Provide Premium features and enforce free-tier limits
- Improve app reliability, security, and performance
- Respond to customer support requests
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
3. How Voice Processing Works
When you record audio:
- Your recording is securely transmitted to our servers.
- The audio is transcribed and translated into English using trusted third-party AI services (currently AssemblyAI).
- The translated English text is returned to your device so you can insert it into messaging or other apps.
Please do not record sensitive information, such as passwords, OTPs, banking information, or confidential personal data.
Voice recordings are processed only to generate transcripts and translations. Unless temporarily required for processing or troubleshooting, audio recordings are not permanently stored and are deleted after processing.
4. Permissions We Use
BolFlow may request the following permissions:
- Microphone — Used to record your voice for speech recognition.
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay) — Used to display the floating microphone bubble while typing in other applications.
- Accessibility Service — Used to detect editable text fields and assist in inserting translated text where supported.
- Internet — Required to securely process speech and synchronize your account.
- Notifications / Foreground Service — Used while voice recording is active so Android can keep the service running reliably.
These permissions are used solely to provide BolFlow’s features. You may revoke permissions at any time through Android Settings, although some functionality may no longer work.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate BolFlow, including:
- AssemblyAI — Speech transcription and translation
- MongoDB — Secure storage of account information and app data
- Google Play — Subscription billing
- RevenueCat — Premium subscription entitlement management
- Cloud hosting providers — Hosting and operating our backend API
These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services and according to their own privacy policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only:
- With trusted service providers that help operate BolFlow
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect the safety, rights, or security of our users or BolFlow
- With your consent
7. Data Retention
- Account information is retained while your account remains active.
- Voice recordings are processed to generate transcripts and translations and are not retained longer than necessary for processing.
- Conversion history may be stored so you can review previous results.
- When you delete your account, we remove your account information, app settings, and conversion history from our databases.
- Backup systems may temporarily retain residual copies until they are automatically overwritten.
Deleting your BolFlow account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription. Premium subscriptions must be managed separately through Google Play.
8. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your BolFlow account and associated data at any time.
To delete your account:
- Open the BolFlow app.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
After confirmation, we will delete:
- Your account information (name, email address, and hashed password)
- Your saved app settings
- Your conversion history stored on our servers
The following information is not controlled by BolFlow:
- Purchase records maintained by Google Play
- Information processed or retained by third-party providers (such as AssemblyAI) according to their own retention policies
If you cannot access the app, you may request account deletion by contacting us using the email address listed below.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS encrypted communication
- Secure password hashing
- Access controls for backend systems
Although we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children’s Privacy
- BolFlow is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age in your country).
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- The app is intended for users aged 18 years and older.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
You may also:
- Delete your account through Profile → Delete Account
- Disable the voice bubble in the app settings
- Revoke Microphone, Overlay, or Accessibility permissions through Android Settings
- Manage or cancel your Premium subscription through Google Play

12. International Processing
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, including by our service providers.
Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information during international transfers.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, the Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
Your continued use of BolFlow after any changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
